Idea Challenge: Sustainability/Green Spaces

Wednesday 21 May 2025 | 12:30 - 17:30
Join us for an in person session where you can learn about sustainability and green spaces

Most Imperial students know about our history as a hub for innovation, but did you know our campus was built on the first-ever Royal Horticultural Garden? Where cutting-edge research now happens, a vibrant garden once bloomed. Like much of London, South Kensington’s green spaces have faded over time, leaving just a few patches of biodiversity that need our help.

That’s where RE:GEN @Imperial comes in. RE:GEN is a student-led movement dedicated to protecting, restoring, and expanding green spaces on campus. They are currently restoring the Chaplaincy Garden from an old COVID-19 test site to a thriving community garden. As Imperial begins its transition towards a greener campus, it faces many challenges, challenges that other urban organisations will face too.

Join us and the Imperial Enterprise Lab for a half-day Idea Challenge, where you will work in teams to develop solutions to the future’s most pressing problems. Combine your expertise in business, natural sciences, engineering, or medicine with other Imperial Students and affiliates to create highly impactful teams. Topics you will explore include: how to produce and maintain healthy soil, or consider techniques that can help us produce food without harming ecosystems or our precious water cycles.
